Privacy Policy

This page explains what happens on www.debden.org.uk when a page loads, and it limits itself to what the underlying build actually does. It does not describe any collection method, storage mechanism, or data-sharing arrangement beyond what is listed below.

What does this site actually record?

When a visitor arrives from a search engine, the site notes the page path, the type of event, the name of the referring search engine, and the text of any outbound button that gets clicked. This happens only for visits that begin at a search engine — not for every visit. The sole purpose of this record is counting page views and clicks on outbound buttons; it is not used for anything else, such as building an advertising profile or a personal record.

To stop a single page view from being counted twice, the site keeps one flag in the browser for the current session. This flag exists only for as long as the session lasts and does not act as a persistent identifier. No other browser storage is set, and no cookie is used anywhere on the site.

The pages themselves are self-contained: every file a page needs, including its fonts, is served from this domain rather than fetched from an outside host while the page displays. The whole site is a set of static files delivered through a content delivery network, which handles the technical side of every request as the hosting provider.

What happens when an outbound link is followed?

Some pages contain outbound links to third-party sites. Following one of these links first passes through a path on this domain, which then redirects the visitor to the partner site. No stored visitor data is passed along in that redirect. Once the partner site is reached, it receives the request directly from the visitor's browser and keeps its own separate record of that visit — this site has no control over what a partner site does with it.

What this site does not do

There are no forms anywhere on the site, so there is nothing to submit and nothing typed by a visitor is collected. There is no third-party analytics service reading traffic here, and no external subresources are loaded from other hosts while a page is open. There are also no contact channels on the site.

Consistent with this, the site collects no names, e-mail addresses, account identifiers, or payment details, and has no login, registration, or user account. Nothing is retained about an individual visitor beyond the session flag described above, and nothing is shared with advertising networks, data brokers, or outside analytics services. This is why the site asks for no consent, no account, and no personal detail: there is no mechanism here that would need any of them.
